Cimatheque – Alternative Film Centre is now accepting applications for its Color Grading Workshop, which will take place from December 5th to December 17th, 2015. Up to 12 participants will be selected to take part in a two-week intensive workshop providing them with an artistic and technical insight into the main stages of color grading, through theoretical lessons and practical training.

This programme is targeted at colorists, cinematographers, editors and VFX specialists. It will be mentored by Jorge Piquer Rodriguez (Spain/Belgium).

The workshop aims at giving its participants the skills to apply their creative visions while using modern technologies, through three phases: 
- An introduction to the basics of color grading (contrast, gamma, matching shots and creating looks and styles).
- Working on participants’ projects, applying primary and secondary adjustments for the final look. 
- Technical training (advanced keyframing and tracking techniques, working with RAW and LOG camera formats, rendering, exporting and mastering).

The workshop requires availability of 8 hours daily, and will be conducted in English.

Jorge Piquer Rodriguez - Almeria, Spain (1984)
A colorist, cinematographer and filmmaker based in Brussels, Belgium. After graduating from art school in Valencia, Spain, he started working on different film projects, collaborating with various filmmakers to explore and create a specific visual world for their productions.

Over the past 10 years, he co­-founded "La Ignorancia" (a dance, film, and music production company) and worked with producers from Spain, Belgium, Germany, Estonia, France, Portugal, Lebanon, Jordan and Egypt, making short films, television ads, documentaries, and feature films as a cinematographer, DIT and/or colorist, working with analogue and digital formats.

He has built a strong working relationship with filmmakers such as Marcin Malaszack, director of "Swienaka”, “Orbitalna", and, "The Days Run Away Like Wild Horses Over the Hills”, all of which were screened at Berlinale Film Festival.
