The City The Ghost //02
SOUND INSTALLATION OPENING
Music by: Franziska Baumann, Alfred Zimmerlin, Nahla Mattar, Marwan Fawzi
Installation by: Mohamed Shoukry
Artist Mohamed Shokry presents a remake of the sound installation “The City The Ghost” for musicians Nahla Mattar and Marwan Fawzi from Egypt, and Alfred Zimmerlin and Franziska Baumann from Switzerland. The installation is about the audio cultural memory of Cairo through the varied perspectives of Swiss and Egyptian composers. In addition to documenting a large number of distinct sounds of Cairo, the work evokes different feelings about the sounds. The exhibition runs from April 19 – 25 at 100 Copies.
The exhibition is supported by Pro-Helvetia.
