As part of a year-long collaboration between the British Council and the European-Egyptian Contemporary Music Society, the Egyptian Contemporary Music Ensemble will perform the pieces 'Hidden Voice 2' (1999) by Jonathan Harvey, 'Igor, the bird who couldn't sing' (2011) by Luke Bedford and 'Secret Theatre' (1984) by Sir Harrison Birtwistle. There will also be a screening of the short film A Mind of Winter (George Benjamin) by Barrie Gavin. The Ensemble will be conducted by Rossen Gergov. Opera singer Neveen Allouba will narrate 'Igor, the bird who couldn't sing'.
