Yasmine Hamdan
"Arabic Music's Modern Voice", Lebanese singer/songwriter Yasmine Hamdan first became known with Soapkills, an indie/electronic duo she founded in Beirut. Moving to Paris, Yasmine went on to record Arabology (2009) under the Y.A.S. moniker, following which her debut solo album Ya Nass was released in 2013. With projects ranging film and theatre, her music is a form of electro folk pop, with lyrics that are interestingly infused with a variety of Arabic dialects.
