Light snacks and wine will be served.

About the Artist
Charobim (1894 -1975), an Egyptian painter who graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome in 1923, was among the pioneers that shaped the art movement of the 20th century in Egypt.

Primarily a landscape painter, Charobim depicted the beauty and serenity of Egypt between the 1920s and 1960s in his works, as well as the lush mountains and valleys of Lebanon. His body of work also includes striking portraits, scenes of everyday life in Egypt and picturesque Mediterranean seascapes.

Charobim's paintings combine classical art with the immediacy of impressionism.
Today his paintings are revered as a realistic yet romantic documentation of 20th century Egypt.

Readings in Visual Art is curated by Rasha Ragab.
