In the last two years, the body expressed itself politically as it never did before. The human body broke the state authority restriction that was working on using, customizing, limiting its movement and even torturing it in some occasions. The crowds in Tahrir was formed through the gathering of citizens’ bodies that moved, talked and cheered together to topple the regime despite their different ideologies and backgrounds. Those bodies agreed together on finding a new public space
From this perspective we are wondering: Who owns the body? How the body forms the public spaces? How the presence and the movement of the bodies together redefine public space? And how it went from being a subject of study in the private space to be present strongly in the analysis of the public space
In this discussion, we are addressing the various forms of protestation by using the body and its abilities to challenge the regimes. We will also discuss the conflict among the governing body, the political body, the social body and the individual body. Also the falling of the governing body and its impact on the future of the countries and on forming a new political body will be tackled. 
We’ll also discuss the discrimination against women and their bodies, the assaults and violations they get to alienate them from the political sphere and the struggle for survival of the politicized body in the public space.

The discussion will be moderated by Mariam Wahid, a teaching assistant at faculty of Economics and Political Science, Cairo University. She focuses on Body Politics after the revolution in a big part of her research.
