In this 5-day workshop we will engage in storytelling, enactment and other processes that explore our own histories of power, privilege and political agency. Using case examples from around the world, we will also examine the role of Playback Theatre within initiatives that promote critical consciousness and sociopolitical change. Additionally, this workshop will explore the practice and ethics of performing stories that contain themes of adversity, hardship and trauma. The workshop will culminate in a small performance for invited guests. Our time together will include ample opportunity for movement practice, voice work and playful connection

This workshop is accredited through the Arab School of Playback Theatre, an affiliate school of the New York-based, Centre for Playback Theatre

All applicants must have completed a 5-day foundational training course in Playback Theatre
