Bassam Alzoghby:
Bassam Alzoghby became interested in photography as an amateur during his studies at the Faculty of Law, Ain Shams University. Immediately after graduation in 1993, he began to work as a professional photographer. He joined Al-Gomhouriya newspaper to work as a photojournalist (from 1995 to 1997), Akhbar Al-Youm newspaper (from 1997 to 2004) and finally Al-Ahram newspaper (from 2004 to present).
He started participating in art exhibitions since 2001 in Egypt and abroad, and has won numerous awards. His first solo exhibition was held in 2010 at the Saad Zaghloul Cultural Center. In 2012, Alzoghby received the honorary award of the International Photographic Salon of Japan (session 72). In 2013, his second solo exhibition 'Freedom' was held at Al-Gezira Arts Center and his third solo exhibition 'Solo' was held at Saad Zaghloul Cultural Center in 2016.
Bassam Alzoghby works on the reformulation of the scene during the photographing process using his own style, and seeks to get the image out of the traditional concept of documenting the reality to abstraction, turning the bodies into radiating energies intertwined with movement and color.
