This 6-day workshop will allow participants to explore the basic practices and theories of the Naghali and Pardeh-khaani techniques. There will be a performance with trainers and participants on the last day of the workshop.
Naghali and Pardeh-khaani are Iranian story-telling traditions, practiced usually in the streets and coffee hourses, story-teller titles varying according to their style of story-telling and the subject matter of the stories told. Pardeh-khaani is a visual form of story-telling done before a big cloth or canvas (pardeh) hung in a square, or the walls of a tea or coffee hourse, painted on which are the events of the story being told, which the story-teller would refer to during their recounting. The workshop is in English and Arabic.

Deadline for applications is Thursday, June 13th, 2013.
Requirements: This workshop is open to amateur and professional theatre and visual artists, with an interest in storytelling and drawing. Participants must attend all the sessions of the workshop.
Workshop dates are from Wednesday, June 19th to Monday, June 24th, from 12pm to 4pm.
The performance will take place on Tuesday, June 25th at 6pm.
