Training Course Background


Civil Society and Non-Governmental Organizations are mandated to demonstrate and report tangible results in development projects in order to be more accountable to its beneficiaries and funding partners for how resources are used, what results are achieved and how effective these results are in bringing about progress in human development. In order for such organizations to stand-out of the competition, they need not only to build results-oriented culture but to strive towards greater outcome-level changes targeting improved lives for their project’s beneficiaries. This training provides organizations with fundamental processes and tools needed to undertake systematic monitoring and evaluation (M&E) activities throughout the entire life cycle of its projects in order to produce highly effective programs, as well as to meet the continually increasing M&E requirements of donors. It is an interactive course relying on different modes of delivery and requires the full commitment and engagement of participants during the course.

Learning Outcome

- Understanding inter-linkages, dependencies and distinction between planning, monitoring and evaluation
- Equipping participants, with hands-on practice, on using logic-modeling when designing their projects
- How to design and use Performance Monitoring Plan, M&E Plan in order to keeping real and sustainable improvements as well as the systematic use of lessons learned to inform future programming
- Understand the various evaluation methods and best practices to ensure evidence-based professional standards are in place
- Increase knowledge of the standard evaluation reports outlines in addition to practice the how to develop a results-oriented Terms of Reference for evaluations
