The second edition of Megawra’s Mentorship program, with Architect Mostafa Hossam, is a chance to collectively create a vision for the future of Architecture in Egypt.

What next?….A question not easily answered in light of the ambiguity of our past and present and our uniformed understanding of our past. It is therefore necessary to start the journey with a session that contextualizes our quest in past practices – both international and local. We then follow with a second session of introspection to try and understand our current condition. Then, having acquired the tools of prediction, the third session attempts to predict scenarios for the future of architecture in Egypt. In the final, fourth session, participants respond to the discussion with their own presentations and the discussion is opened to the public.

Program Timeline:

The program offers a short journey of self-exploration by revisiting architectural design, history and theory going through three major time shifts, and then the results are presented in an open discussion with the public.

Monday March 17: A hundred years 1900-2000
Monday March 24: 2000-2014
Monday March 31: What next? : Future scenarios

Date to be confirmed: Participant responses and public debate.
