*SYNOPSIS:
A well-off Egyptian family gathers around the dinner table, and through their interactions we are served up a feast of nihilism, absurdity and apathy in Ahmed El Attar's ‘The Last Supper’.

The cast of eleven brings to life the stereotypes of the contemporary Egyptian elite, each character embodying a self-absorbed philosophy mired in his own preconceptions.

The characters opulent surroundings contrast with their consistent stream of lively but hollow exchanges, accentuating the vast empty chasm separating them from one another, and from the realities beyond their sumptuous meal.

In a brief glimpse into the life of a typical affluent family, ‘The Last Supper’ highlights the vapid interactions that masquerade as human connections, societal and familial roles, and the inescapable emptiness that casts its shadow over the illusion of plenty, offering a zesty microcosm of what Egyptian society has become.
