This workshop will be the team's first attempt to reach out to the most important CSO stakeholders in this area and invites guests to share their ideas regarding priority issues that should be addressed, approaches being used, and future directions.

More about the Project:
Earlier this month the UNDP regional office in partnership with the Arab Organization for Human Rights and the American University in Cairo (AUC), Public Policy Department, launched a project tackling the issue of informality in Egypt in all its aspects. The project seeks to equip Civil society organizations (CSOs) working in the field of economic and social rights with skills and information to address the root causes of informality and its effects. The project’s main goal is to catalyze the formation of collective action among CSOs to work together with other stakeholders to move to the level of policies and to adopt a rights-based and social justice strategy responding to the problems of informality.
Within this project, AUC will develop policy-relevant research and policy papers supporting the regional program and implement an experimental initiative to catalyze collective action on the informality policy agenda in Egypt through collaboration with a selected group of Egyptian CSOs and other stakeholders.
