Why Ecohouse?
The question of eco-friendly architecture and sustainable development has been at the center of academic debate, design interventions, and public policies in cities around the world over the past two decades.
In Egypt, these questions have been addressed in multiple venues. In parallel, the urban development scene has witnessed the emergence of eco-friendly initiatives, such as green rooftops, and the introduction of industries experimenting with local solutions to these global concerns.
Ecohouse seeks to raise awareness about the range of innovative and affordable eco-friendly design solutions for Egypt’s housing market. It offers a tool for practitioners as well as the general public to understand and access environmental design technologies, and connect with local green initiatives, towards the creation of a more ecologically friendly and more livable city.
