This workshop series focuses on key aspects of planning and designing an eco-lodge. Lodge owners will learn how to plan and design an eco-lodge with emphasis on creating a sense of place for the visitor, respect the environment and the culture and gain insight into successfully operating and marketing an eco-lodge. In doing so, the workshop will enhance the capacity of lodge owners and protected area managers to design or improve ecotourism products so that they become economically viable, integrate local communities and positively contribute to nature conservation.

The workshop series further aims at linking the handicraft sector with the tourism sector.
