This workshop of contemporary dance is open for everybody with or without previous experience in dance. 
The session will start with a warming up aiming to bring full awareness of the body in movement in relationship with the space. Floor sequences will be performed, bringing the focus to the lightness and organization of the body while landing and taking off the floor. We will find the efficiency, traveling and safety of the bodies performing different actions (sliding, rolling, crawling, turning, jumping, etc). Dynamic games, partnering work and improvisations tasks will be also worked during the 12 sessions implementing and finding different qualities of movement and interpretations of the proposal. Every week the sessions will be challenged and different variations in time and complexity will be added. 12 sessions to explore and enjoy the encounter with contemporary dance and the joy of moving in a group sharing the pleasure of dance!

Libertad Pozo

Contemporary dancer/teacher & choreographer at the Cairo Contemporary Dance Center (CCDC) in Egypt and at the Dance Academy, ArtEZ in The Netherlands.
She graduated from ArtEZ Dance Academy in Arnhem (The Netherlands) and finished her studied in Social Education (University of Salamanca, Spain).
Her work and movement language is based on improvisation and daily moments in the life and environment of the performer and her technical classes are especially focused on floor work/partnering and awareness of the body on the landing and taking off the floor.
She started the Foundation Arte Social, an organization for social art projects, where she worked actively as artistic director.
At this moment, after seventeen years living and working in the Netherlands, she is back in Spain and is actively involved in different art projects as a contemporary dancer/maker in her home country and abroad. Since five years Libertad Pozo is busy applying the Critical Response Process in her dance classes and workshops, searching and sharing forms of bringing feedback in the dance field and creative process in different art disciplines. She has been part of the research group Moves Between and the National Centre Performing Arts (NL), where she still collaborates. She has shared her experience as a teacher and choreographer in different professional Dance and Theater Academies in Spain, Portugal, England, Finland, the Netherlands, and Egypt. In this last one, Cairo Contemporary Dance Center, directed by Karima Mansour, she collaborates as a guest teacher since 2012. In 2016, Libertad Pozo collaborated with CCDC giving a long term open workshop, initiating a research group within the school where the students could bring their own topic, relating it to improvisation and contemporary dance. CCDC hosted her artistic residence "Encounters" in June 2016.
