Mahdy’s Walk is an exhibition of audio documentation from a twenty-minute walk in Ard El Lewa، performed with a diverse group of people. A rich image of this informal neighborhood is composed through an ensemble of conversations touching on football, sunshine, skilled labor, and village life in the city.

"In January 2013, I asked Mahdy Saad, a youth living in Ard El Lewa, to take me on a short walk in his neighborhood. I recorded the conversation we had on the walk, in which Mahdy talked about his relationship to his neighborhood, its rapid growth, football and sunshine. In the past week, I have taken this same walk with volunteers from inside and outside Ard El Lewa, and recorded each conversation." Amira Hanafi.

The exhibition will be open from: Thursday 25 April – Sunday 5 May, 5:00 – 10:00pm (see Related Events).
